Welcome to Your Independent Reading Projects!

• Students will apply their knowledge of the reading strategies practiced in class (including predicting, visualizing, connecting, questioning, clarifying, and evaluating) in order to read and analyze the texts they select within the time period provided for the project.
• Students will identify the historical or cultural significance of the work they select so that they can come to a richer understanding of its connection to the Global 9 Curriculum.
• Students will demonstrate their knowledge of the major theme(s) in the work they selected by creating a project of their choice.
• Students will independently use various multimedia throughout the course of this project in order to expand upon and demonstrate their comfort level with various forms of technology.
